Thank you, so nice!

I've been thinking about this point of focus ever since Leticia shared this idea and her experience with CASA. It's interesting that our common definition of service is for the benefit of others but I think it's actually a cooperative and shared benefit. When we take time to help others, we step outside of our own lives and any problems we may be experiencing to demonstrate our sympathy and compassion for others. Through our service in action we affirm that we are connected to each other. We acknowledge that concerning ourselves with others, their needs, their wants, their hopes and dreams and how to help make that happen actually benefits us all, because if we all work together, we all do well. And being and doing well is such a good thing. Thank you Leticia for providing our point of focus for August. I'm sending out intention for us as a people and for our leaders to value the service we give to each other and to consider the needs of all as important for creating a new and loving present and future.

Something I loved about Jonee was her empathy for others. She was a good listener and tried to understand a person and what they were experiencing. I try to emulate this quality and was glad I was able to tell her how special she was to my life and that she was a mentor to me.

Yes, Elaine I agree. Lots of times the head starts thinking negatively and it’s important to balance that with the heart love energy and let the heart lead. Yes we would contribute more to raising the energy that way.

Thank you Pam. This is a wonderful message, so simple but so important to remember. I love our tribe too! Let's get out of our heads and into our hearts. I'm trying this everyday this month, day by day.

I started out with great intentions. Unfortunately life has happened and I’ve missed a couple of days. I like it better when I have the time to meditate so I’ve told myself that even sitting quietly with my eyes closed for just a few minutes can count. This way I can make it through the whole challenge! Success!

Those are great ideas. In another area - I was surprised how much the disposable towelette makeup removers took off. I couldn’t believe the beauty industry could replace washcloths. I know it’s hard to resist all the marketing hype, especially in the younger group. IMO the other thing that gets in the way of being a non-disposable society is how much we are told we are dirty. We overuse heavy duty cleansers and antibacterials. Our bodies need lots of topical products now to maintain our cleanliness, freshness, and attractiveness. We are filled with toxins and have to cleanse internally and use supplements. All these untruths really hit our pocketbooks and they prey on our self-esteem. Not to mention that now aging is seen like a disease process instead of as natural. What are your suggestions for dealing with all that? I drink lots of water, get sleep and put a smile on and hope that the younger generation sees that reality is not what was advertised.
