Healing Pool

Hi, everyone. The date for my surgery is Thursday, 6/8/2023, at 9:30 am (MST). I met with my surgeon yesterday who told me that I’ll be in the operating room for 2 hours. My recent CT-scan showed “severe arthritis with large bone spurs going every which direction,” which have greatly affected the ball and socket (or rotator cuff, whatever it is). He’s doing a “reverse total right shoulder replacement.” I’ll be in a sling for 6 weeks, after which I’ll start physical therapy. I’ve already been practicing doing things around the house with only one arm/hand and it’s a bit of a challenge. Still, I’m grateful for my Banner Health insurance that will pay for nearly everything. Anyway, thank you all for your encouragement and support. I’ll be doing another recording to listen to in the O.R. FYI, my left hip replacement surgery was just barely 6 months ago, so my condo is already set up with grabbers, handrails, etc. A dear friend has taken time off from work to stay with me the weekend after my surgery, which is priceless. I’m so glad to get all this work done NOW instead of 10 years from now!! Also FYI, my cat Smoky has been really sweet and staying close, snuggling up next to my arm during sleep and licking it since she’s trying to heal me --animals are so smart!! I LOVE HER!!
