HACKS- Bonus 3
**Vampire Drains- Unplug all electronic equipment that is not in use such as a blender, air fryer, coffee maker... They continue to pull electricity which may not be much but why waste energy and cost?
**Bees/Butterflies- To give bees water a flatter dish w/ pebbles in it and some water. It allows the bees to drink and if they fall into the water, they have a way to climb out and not drown. Butterflys can use a puddling place that is slightly muddy. It provides minerals to them as they drink or eat it. Both can be pollinators for flowers and garden foods.
** Cleaner- Save the orange peels and put in a jar of vinegar. Allow to sit fo a few days-weeks and then strain. The vinegar is now an orange cleaner for counters and other areas. Can be in a spray bottle or a regular one.
**Headlights- Shaving cream is to clean vehicle headlights.
**Razors- Consider using a razor that uses a replaceable blades. The disposables are bad for the environment as they go to landfills and cannot be re-purposed, Also they are plastic. The metal handle for the bladed razor needs no replacement, the only part to change out is the blade.
**Weeds-Many of the plants around the neighborhood are considered "Weeds". With a little research many can be found to be nurtitious and were edibles in times past. Many ppl are now growing them as a food source. Do not harvest from areas near cars, raods as they may absorb toxins. Many have more nutrition than some of the foods in the grocery as they have been hybridized so much that some nutrition has been lost. Many taste very good too, can be pickled, fermented or just cooked regularly. Also Dandelions are the 1st food source when it flowers to emerging bees in the spring. If possible let them flower and remove once going to seed unless you plan to save the seeds to grow more as they are edible when young.
